‘Messy soup of life

everything is breaking down and it’s not going to re-group in the way that it was’

Your words hit me and I realized that I am coping by mirroring the breakdown of the ‘out there list of things’ by experiencing a breakdown within myself. Loosening my grip on who I thought I was is not easy. Breathing through the fear and just relaxing through my robot-like identitiy failures helps. Paying attention helps as well.

For example...I got an Uber ride with Carlos, an El Salvadorian, yesterday (Jeep over heated) He told me a story of picking up two men. At one point he felt something cold just under his right ear. ‘Are you afraid?’, a voice said. His calm response can be summarized as No! He was ready, if it was his time. By not allowing fear to control him...he defused the situation and actually had a normal, human conversation with both men to their destination. (which also allowed him to return home to wife and family that night) Ah, getting to Beyond...just human.....the challenge of our time. He was a perfect model and metaphor, as was my jeep...for that afternoon.

Hopefully, I’ll get back on the road today...open to what life presents next.

It's SUPER difficult to understand. Never mind the difference of the world's people or religion, forget about evil or decent folks. What makes a Democrat or Republican, who knows? Even someone who chooses to live in the desert vs. the humid south.

What's the world coming to? Hmmm ... could it be taxes and death?
